The People Power Party Youth Committee posted an introduction of its leadership on Facebook on the 29th of last month. The Youth Committee is mainly composed of the party's 20s and 30s generation and was created to actively reflect communication with young people in politics.
Since the People Power Party Youth Committee emphasizes the 'youth' image, they used a large number of trendy and distinctive expressions in the introduction text.
However, some netizens criticized this as trivializing politics and expressed negative reactions. They argued that some words used in the introduction cause unnecessary political conflicts and misunderstandings.
Spokesperson Joo Sung-eun wrote in the introduction, "A country where God's rule prevails, the Republic of Korea with a spirit of freedom and conservatism," and "TMI: My mother is a pastor." This was harshly criticized by netizens as "an inappropriate expression in a country that guarantees freedom of religion." Additionally, amid recent controversies surrounding Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church, the phrase linking religion and the party was pointed out as inconsistent with the party's stance.
Planning Director Kim Geum-bi wrote, "For the past two years, I believed an economic Great Depression was imminent and almost ended up at the Han River because of being overly cautious." Netizens criticized the phrase "almost ended up at the Han River" as trivializing suicide by jumping into the Han River.

Talent Development Headquarters Director Lee Jae-bin introduced himself as "My greatest life achievement: 14 awarded leaves as an Army private." This appears to target recent allegations of preferential treatment in military service involving Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae's son, and "private" (ttanggaeal infantry) is a derogatory term for Army soldiers. Director Lee also said, "I don't want to grow up to be like a student activist," and netizens pointed out that such expressions could further provoke political conflicts.
