Traffic Congestion Expected Both Ways Late into the Night on Chuseok Day for Homecoming and Return Trips
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] On the evening of the first day of the Chuseok holiday, traffic congestion on major highways nationwide was mostly cleared.
According to Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 8:30 PM that day, the Gyeongbu Expressway in both directions between Busan and Seoul showed smooth traffic flow without congestion.
Vehicles were also moving at normal speeds on the Seohaean Expressway, Yeongdong Expressway, and Jungbu Expressway.
As of 9 PM that day, it is expected to take 4 hours and 30 minutes by passenger car from Seoul Tollgate to Busan. Under the same conditions, it is expected to take 3 hours and 20 minutes to Gwangju, 3 hours and 30 minutes to Daegu, and 1 hour and 30 minutes to Daejeon.
