'Sky72 New Operator' KMH Consortium "Securing Future Growth Engines"
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] "Securing future growth engines."
The KMH Consortium, the new operator of Sky72 Golf Course on Yeongjongdo Island in Incheon, has a rosy outlook. On the 29th, Incheon International Airport Corporation announced, "As a result of the bidding for the follow-up operator of the public golf course in the Sinbul area and the planned site for the 5th runway, KMH Shilla Leisure, which proposed the highest evaluated operating rate, was selected as the successful bidder." Sky72 Golf Course is the largest public golf complex in Korea, located within the Incheon International Airport premises. It consists of a total of 72 holes, including 18 holes on the Sky Course and 54 holes on the Sea Course.
More than 20 domestic golf course operators participated in this competitive bidding. The KMH Consortium succeeded in the bid by accurately analyzing the expected annual profitability of Sky72 Golf Course, leveraging the accumulated experience from successfully operating four golf courses: Shilla CC (27 holes) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province; Paju CC (18 holes) in Paju, Gyeonggi Province; Tejeve CC (36 holes) in Cheongju, Chungbuk; and Paganica CC (18 holes) in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
The KMH Consortium is responsible for overall golf course operations through three companies: Shilla Leisure (Shilla CC), Paju Country Club (Paju CC), and Oksan Leisure (Tejeve CC), while the parent company KMH handles project management and financial investment. The consortium members have thus laid an important foundation to become the largest golf course operator in the country. Park Hyung-sik, CEO of Shilla Leisure, expressed confidence, stating, "We will make the most of our operational know-how from Shilla CC."
