The victim's father, Mr. A, said in an interview on CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' aired on the 29th, "He said he has been reflecting and repenting all this time, so how can he say he is coming to Ansan?" He criticized, "I judge it as retaliation. How could he say he is coming to the same neighborhood as the victim?"
He continued, "If he had truly repented, wouldn't he have the mindset that he should no longer make things difficult for the victim? If he wants to ensure that such an incident never happens again, shouldn't he leave?"
Also, Mr. A expressed concern that his daughter might learn about the controversies related to Jo Doo-soon's release. He said, "(Nayoung) has been gradually stabilizing and doing well. But now, if she finds out about this noisy situation, I am most worried that she might be shocked."
He added, "She might access the news through her phone or something, but we completely removed the TV from the house," and said, "I think that is at least a relief."
Regarding Jo Doo-soon's plans after his release, Mr. A said, "This person is now sixty-eight years old. What would he do after coming out? Would he work for a company? Or maybe try to work as a construction laborer, but who would welcome such a person and employ him? These days, jobs are scarce and there are plenty of young people."
