Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Operates 'Smart Chuseok Cultural Life' to Enjoy at Home
Integrated Guide to Non-Face-to-Face Cultural Content
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 28th that from the 29th of this month to the 4th of next month, it will operate 'Wise Chuseok Cultural Life (Culture.go.kr/home),' which guides special Chuseok non-face-to-face performances, exhibitions, and events provided by national and public cultural and artistic institutions.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has prepared a special Chuseok feature on the 'Culture Portal,' which has been operating since March 31 to allow free enjoyment of non-face-to-face content. During the holiday period, various attractions and entertainment are newly provided by theme, including ▲ Tradition and Folklore ▲ Family and Children ▲ Performances and Videos ▲ Exhibitions, Experiences, and Events.
In the tradition and folklore category, 12 items are offered, including 'Stay Home! Enjoying Chuseok' (National Folk Museum), autumn night fusion gugak performance at the palace (Cultural Heritage Administration), and Jongmyo Jeryeak (National Gugak Center).
Family and children’s content includes children's performances such as 'Tree and Child' (National Asia Culture Center) and online physical activities for families to enjoy together (Korean Sports Council).
Additionally, regular concerts by the Korean Symphony Orchestra, major opera performances from Italy, Germany, and France, and popular exhibition videos from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art are also provided.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has prepared various Chuseok enjoyment plans, including starting a contest on the 24th called 'Introduce Fun Home Stay Games for Our Happy Home Stay,' which shares ways for families to stay home together during COVID-19.

Park Yang-woo, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "During the Chuseok holiday, I hope people take out books they bought but were too busy to read, watch exhibitions and performances on the 'Wise Chuseok Cultural Life' website, and also try playing Yutnori or engaging in physical activities online with their families."
