Seoul Reports 19 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... 54th Death Occurs
Eight janitors belonging to a cleaning service company working at Sindorim Station in Seoul have been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). On the 28th, cleaning workers were moving within the platform at Sindorim Station to perform their duties. According to Guro District, on the 25th, one janitor working at Sindorim Station was confirmed positive for COVID-19, and after testing 16 colleagues working together, seven more were confirmed positive. As of midnight on the 28th, Seoul city announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Seoul area increased by 19 from the previous day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 5,231.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul fell to 21 on the 21st, then fluctuated between 30 and 50, recording 26 cases on the 25th, 34 on the 26th, and dropping to 19 on this day, marking the lowest since the COVID-19 resurgence in mid-August.
Among the new confirmed cases, 4 were related to the Sammo Sporex Sauna in Gwanak-gu (total 26 cases). At this location, one employee was first confirmed positive on the 15th, followed by 23 cases until the 26th, and 4 cases on the 27th, totaling 29 related confirmed cases, of which 26 are confirmed in Seoul.
Additionally, 3 cases related to the Yemaru Daycare Center in Dobong-gu (total 25 cases), as well as one additional confirmed case each at Daewoo Dioville Plus in Gangnam-gu (total 25 cases), Sindorim Station (total 7 cases), and DYD Development in Gangnam-gu (total 11 cases) were reported.
There were 6 cases with other infection routes, and 3 confirmed cases are under investigation for their infection routes.
One additional death was reported in Seoul the previous day, bringing the total number of deaths to 54.
So far, 4,330 COVID-19 patients in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 847 are currently undergoing isolation treatment.
