LF Jil Sthuart New York Collaborates with 'Kasik'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] LF (CEO Kyusik Oh), a lifestyle culture company, will launch a collection on the 28th in collaboration with renowned domestic artist Kasik for the 2020 Fall/Winter season of its New York-inspired contemporary menswear brand JILLSTUART NEW YORK Men.
Lee Jungwoo, who works under the name Kasik, is a fashion and advertising illustrator globally recognized for his dreamy works using watercolor techniques. He has proven his skills in the global fashion industry by working on illustrations for the annual report of French luxury conglomerate Louis Vuitton Mo?t Hennessy (LVMH) and the online men’s luxury retailer Mr Porter. Expanding his reach across various fields worldwide, he has also worked on the cover of the American business magazine Forbes and the popular album jacket for British pop star Ed Sheeran.
This collaboration, themed ’90s NYC,’ is inspired by the culturally rich New York of the 1990s, recreating the fashion and scenery popular throughout the United States with the brand’s unique sensibility. Kasik drew inspiration from American bomber styles, street fashion combining MA-1 jumpers and denim, and the dazzling neon signs on the outskirts of New York to create original artwork. JILLSTUART NEW YORK applied these works to various items such as sweatshirts, hoodies, and shirts with refined silhouettes and sophisticated colors, completing a collection that exquisitely blends past trends with modern sensibilities.
