[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 28th that it will launch the premium massage chair LG Healing Me Maldives, equipped with body shape-customized massage and voice recognition functions, on the 29th.
The LG Healing Me Maldives (model name: MH60G) offers customers a more diverse and optimized massage compared to previous products. LG Electronics applied both an S-shaped frame that fits the spine shape from the neck to the waist and an L-shaped frame that fits the shape from the waist to the hips in this new product. As a result, while previous products could only massage from the neck to the hips, the new product extends the massage area to the thighs. In particular, the massage chair automatically recognizes the user's shoulder height, and users can adjust the shoulder width in three steps. Additionally, the chair automatically moves according to the length of the legs, allowing customers with long legs to receive a comfortable massage.
This is the first time LG Electronics has applied voice recognition to a massage chair. Customers can set massage courses or massage intensity using only their voice while using the chair. For example, after pressing the voice recognition button located on the armrest and hearing the notification sound, if the user says massage courses such as "Maldives Healing" or "Therapy," or massage intensities like "Upper body strong" or "Lower body weak," the massage chair operates according to the customer's instructions.
LG Electronics also applied various additional features such as a heated seat that warms the user's back, hips, and calves, Bluetooth speakers to listen to music while receiving a massage, and a USB port to charge smartphones.
This product includes 10 automatic massage courses: Maldives Healing, Hip-up Massage, Thai Massage, Good Morning, Time Saving for the whole family; Soft Massage and Air Massage for the elderly or pregnant women; Therapy, Lunch Nap, and Quiet Night for office workers, housewives, and students.
LG Electronics designed the chair to be low-noise so users can fully concentrate on the massage and relax comfortably. The Maldives Healing course operates at about 40dB, which is as quiet as a library.
If users subscribe to the Care Solution service, a Care Solution manager visits every six months to thoroughly maintain the product. The price is 4.4 million KRW for a lump-sum purchase, and the monthly rental fee is 99,900 KRW.
