Kia Motors Gwangju Plant Employees Donate White Rice to Flood Victims
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 27th that union members of Kia Motors Gwangju Plant and members of 'Nodongja-ui Him' (Laborers' Power, representative Jo Saeyoung) visited the Yudeok-dong Community Center in Seo-gu on the 26th to donate rice.
This rice donation was prepared to support the residents of Yudeok-dong who suffered from COVID-19 and the flood damage in August.
On that day, members of 'Nodongja-ui Him' donated 40 bags of rice (20kg each) worth approximately 2 million KRW, purchased with funds collected to overcome the flood damage, to the Seo-gu Volunteer Disaster Prevention Group and Yudeok-dong Community Center.
A member of 'Nodongja-ui Him' personally delivered the rice to the flood-affected residents, saying, "I hope this will be of some help for the upcoming Chuseok holiday."
