Hyundai Kia Motors Appoints Allen Raposo as Vice President in Charge of Powertrain
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors announced on the 25th that they have appointed Allen Raposo as Vice President in charge of Powertrain at the Research and Development Headquarters.
Vice President Allen Raposo is an expert who has led research and development in powertrain, electric vehicles, and batteries for over 30 years at major automakers such as Renault, Nissan, and PSA. Until recently, he was responsible for overseeing powertrain, battery, and chassis development at PSA.
Allen Raposo will join Hyundai Motor Group on the 28th and will be in charge of powertrain, overseeing engine and transmission development as well as electrification development within the Research and Development Headquarters.
Hyundai and Kia expect Vice President Allen Raposo’s expertise and experience to contribute to solidifying global technological leadership in the powertrain sector.
Hyundai and Kia stated, "Vice President Allen Raposo is well recognized as an expert who has accumulated extensive experience not only in internal combustion engines such as engines and transmissions but also in electrification system development including batteries and motors. We have recruited him as the right person to play a pivotal role in developing next-generation powertrains based on Hyundai Motor Group’s architecture and in advancing electrification strategies."
Albert Biermann, President of Hyundai and Kia’s Research and Development Headquarters, said, “We are pleased that Vice President Allen Raposo is joining Hyundai Motor Group,” and added, “Especially, his experience in powertrain electrification will help accelerate innovation toward becoming a ‘smart mobility solutions company.’”
