Mokpo National University Opens Muan Fitness Certification Center for National Fitness 100
Opening a Health Protection Center for Locals through Physical Fitness Assessment and Scientific Exercise Prescription
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo) announced on the 25th that it opened the 'National Fitness 100 Fitness Certification Center,' supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, inside the Mokpo National University gymnasium on the 24th.
Before the opening ceremony, as a preliminary event, Mokpo National University and Muan County (County Governor Kim San) signed a consignment agreement regarding the operation of the Muan Fitness Certification Center, whereby Muan County will support a portion of the annual operating budget, and Mokpo National University will faithfully operate the Muan Fitness Certification Center to contribute to the health promotion of local residents.
At the opening ceremony, along with the unveiling of the Muan Fitness Certification Center plaque, President Park Min-seo gave a greeting, and Kim San, Muan County Governor, and Ko Jae-young, Administrative Director of Jeonnam Sports Council, delivered congratulatory speeches.
President Park Min-seo emphasized, "We will faithfully perform the role of protecting the health of local residents through scientific fitness measurement and exercise prescription in the local community," and encouraged the professors and officials of the Department of Physical Education who worked hard to attract the center.
Additionally, Park In-bae, President of the Muan County Sports Council, and Kim Sun-hee, Director of Physical Education at Mokpo National University, signed a joint effort agreement for the promotion of health for Muan County residents, development of sports promotion content (sports marketing, talent cultivation, education, events, etc.), job creation in Muan County, and revitalization of the local economy, pledging to "strive for health promotion and welfare pursuit of local residents through the Muan Fitness Certification Center."

The Muan Fitness Certification Center is operated by Professor Park Hee-seok of the Department of Physical Education, a specialist in middle-aged and elderly fitness and exercise prescription, who serves as the center director. The center has hired two health exercise managers and two fitness testers to provide scientific exercise prescriptions through fitness measurements for youth, adults, and seniors, and plans to operate health promotion classes targeting the general public, obese individuals, frail people, and local residents lacking exercise.
