[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] First-round applicants for the Youth Special Job-Seeking Support Fund are expected to receive the support payment through their accounts on the 29th, before Chuseok.
Im Seo-jeong, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, visited the Korea Employment Information Service's Online Youth Center on the 25th to review the status of the Youth Special Job-Seeking Support Fund operations and encourage the staff. The Youth Special Job-Seeking Support Fund is a program that provides 500,000 KRW to unemployed youth who participated in the Employment Success Package or Youth Job-Seeking Activity Support Fund last year or this year.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Employment Information Service have taken preemptive measures such as server expansion to prevent server overload during the application and reception period for the Youth Special Job-Seeking Support Fund, and have formed an emergency response team to monitor the system in real time.
Applications for the support fund are divided into the first and second rounds, and both rounds can only be applied for online through the Online Youth Center.
The first application period is two days, from the 24th to the 25th. To prevent system overload, applications are allowed on the 24th for those born on even-numbered years and on the 25th for those born on odd-numbered years.
During the first round, applicants eligible as low-income vulnerable groups who did not receive the job-seeking promotion allowance and those who participated in last year's job-seeking support program, i.e., first and second priority groups, can apply.
Youth who applied in the first round will receive the support payment through their registered accounts on the 29th if approved after screening. The processing results will be notified via text message or AlimTalk. If the payment is denied, the reason will also be provided. If there is any objection to the processing result, it is possible to file an appeal during the second application period.
The second application period is from the 12th to the 24th of next month. A day-of-the-week system based on birth year is operated, and applications are accepted on both Saturdays and Sundays. Those in the first and second priority groups who could not apply during the first round can also apply during this period.
