Gyeongnam Province Selects Winners of the 2020 Human Rights Art Contest

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do has selected 20 award-winning works for the '2020 Gyeongnam Human Rights Works Contest,' held under the theme of 'Respect for Human Rights and the Spread of Human Rights Values in Our Daily Lives' to share the value of human rights in the daily lives of residents and to promote awareness of human rights respect throughout the region.
This contest, open nationwide, was held in four categories: slogans, poetry/essays, posters, and photography. Submissions were accepted for 29 days from July 23 to August 20, with a total of 534 works submitted.
The province formed a judging panel consisting of members of the Human Rights Committee and experts from various fields to conduct the evaluation. The final selections were made by comprehensively assessing human rights orientation, artistic quality, and usability for each category.
In the slogan and photography categories, one grand prize, one excellence prize, and two encouragement prizes were selected each. In the poetry/essay and poster categories, one grand prize, one excellence prize, and one encouragement prize were selected each.
The award-winning works can be viewed on the Gyeongsangnam-do official website starting from the 24th.
The grand prize award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the end of October, with a total prize money of 5 million KRW awarded (Grand Prize 500,000 KRW, Excellence 200,000 KRW, Encouragement 100,000 KRW).

The awarded works will be used for exhibitions, human rights education, and promotional materials to help spread human rights culture in Gyeongsangnam-do.
