Gurye-gun Implements 'Gagahoho' Home Visit Service for Elderly Dementia Patients
Providing Home Visit Services for Dementia Elderly as Part of Non-Face-to-Face Business Initiatives
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] On the 23rd, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has newly started operating a door-to-door visit service for registered elderly dementia patients since the 14th.
The door-to-door visit service is a program in which dementia center specialists and instructors visit the homes of elderly dementia patients, check their health status, and provide cognitive activity services using cognitive workbooks and teaching aids.
Also, before the program starts, staff and participants check their temperature and wear masks to do their best to prevent COVID-19.
The Gurye-gun Dementia Safety Center recently felt the need for non-face-to-face services due to COVID-19 and started the 'door-to-door visit service.'
By providing a 1:1 service that minimizes face-to-face contact, it has become possible to offer customized cognitive activity services tailored to each participant's individual level. In particular, dementia patients in Ganjeon-myeon, a dementia-safe village designated in 2020, were selected first to receive the service.
