[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 22nd, Yong Hye-in, a member of the Basic Income Party, was the only one to vote against the 4th supplementary budget bill (supplementary budget) at the National Assembly plenary session, sparking fierce criticism from pro-Moon Jae-in supporters. Critics pointed out that although Representative Yong entered the National Assembly based on the support of the Democratic Party of Korea, she did not voice the same opinions as the Democratic Party. Yong was elected as a proportional representation candidate of the Democratic Party's satellite party, the Together Citizens' Party, during the 21st general election.
On that day, before the vote on the supplementary budget bill, Representative Yong stated in opposition debate, "I oppose the supplementary budget bill that judges and selects the people's suffering in a disaster situation."
She continued, "Is it only important whether the national debt ratio is 43.9% or 43.5%, while the people with household debt at 97.9% of GDP, whose livelihoods are collapsing, are invisible?" and asked, "Can't you hear the stories of the collapsing people's livelihoods?"
When Representative Yong was the only one to vote against the passage of the 4th supplementary budget bill, personal attack posts targeting her appeared one after another on the Democratic Party's rights members' bulletin board.
Some netizens criticized her for changing her party affiliation to the Basic Income Party after being elected as a proportional representative through the Citizens' Party, saying things like "She 'ate and ran' to the Basic Income Party and now opposes the supplementary budget."
Criticism also continued on 'Ruliweb,' an online community with many pro-government users. On that day, a post titled "Now no one trusts young politicians here" was uploaded on 'Ruliweb.' The author said, "Because of Yong Hye-in, it will be even more so," and netizens who saw the post also commented, "I never trusted her anyway," and "She is not a completely trustworthy politician."
Other netizens also poured out harsh criticism such as "Didn't Yong Hye-in get elected with Democratic Party votes?" and "Looking at what she is doing now, that arrogant 000's behavior is really pathetic."

This is not the first time that Democratic Party supporters have targeted her for so-called 'internal betrayal.' Recently, Democratic Party member Park Yong-jin apologized for the military leave privilege of former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae's son, saying, "I feel sorry for the frustration felt by ordinary young people who served in the military," but he was criticized by pro-government netizens.
Meanwhile, immediately after the plenary session, Representative Yong posted on her blog titled "I was the only one to vote against the 4th supplementary budget bill," saying, "We failed to introduce a universal second emergency disaster relief fund that revives the economy from the bottom without excluding anyone," and "I apologize for not responding to the support of the people."

She said, "Looking at the passage of the supplementary budget bill that only leaves selection for the sake of selection, I feel sorry to the people who are worried about being excluded despite the difficulties, and to those who think that hope and effective alternatives, not consolation and sincerity, are needed," and added, "I will work hard to introduce an emergency disaster relief fund that revives the economy."
