The Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation collected 50 million won from piggy bank donations gathered at schools in the Gyeongnam region from September last year to July this year, corporate sponsorships, and piggy bank donations collected at various branches of the Gyeongnam Nonghyup, and delivered it to the Gyeongnam Office of Education on this day.
The donated funds will be fully used to support children from low-income families who have talents in academics, culture and arts, sports, etc., but are unable to realize their dreams due to difficult circumstances.
The foundation’s project “Sleeping 100 Won, Opening Hope,” which has been ongoing since 2012, has raised over 1.2 billion won to date and has supported children from disadvantaged families with meal expenses, study expenses, and talent development expenses.
