[Photo] Yongsan Cultural Center and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Sign Agreement to Revitalize Yongsan Park's Historical and Cultural Heritage
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu Yongsan Cultural Center (Director Park Sam-gyu) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Yongsan Park Development Promotion Planning Group (Director Choi Im-rak) signed a “Business Agreement for the Activation of Yongsan Park’s Historical and Cultural Heritage” on the 18th at the partially opened site of Yongsan Park (former Officer’s Quarters Complex 5).
The signing ceremony lasted 30 minutes, including a greeting, explanation of the agreement contents, signing of the agreement, and commemorative photo session, attended by 10 people including Park Sam-gyu, Director of Yongsan Cultural Center, and Choi Im-rak, Director of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Yongsan Park Development Promotion Planning Group.
The agreement concerns the joint development and operation of a Yongsan Base historical and cultural tour program. Both the Cultural Center and the Planning Group agreed to cooperate mutually to establish a public-private-academic cooperative system. The newly established “Yongsan Park Historical and Cultural Research Institute” at the partially opened site of Yongsan Park will also begin operation this month under the leadership of the Cultural Center.

Park Sam-gyu, Director of Yongsan Cultural Center, said, “Following last year’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Yongsan Base bus tour, the Cultural Center has decided to take the lead in developing the tour program for the partially opened site,” adding, “The Cultural Center will continue to do its best for the complete establishment of Yongsan Park.”
