Gyeonggi-do to Operate COVID-19 Screening Clinics Normally During Chuseok Holiday
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will operate screening clinics at Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Centers and public health centers normally during the Chuseok holiday (September 30 to October 4).
On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has prepared and will implement a comprehensive Chuseok plan to proactively respond to the spread of COVID-19 and safety accidents during the holiday.
First, the province will operate six Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Centers and COVID-19 screening clinics within public health centers normally during the Chuseok holiday. Dedicated hospitals for confirmed patients and residential treatment centers will also be in operation.
To respond to the spread of COVID-19, measures such as extending public transportation operating hours or lifting taxi restrictions, which were implemented during previous holidays as traffic and transportation measures, will not be applied during this holiday.
However, the number of intercity bus operations and taxi restrictions will be flexibly adjusted according to the demand of returning travelers.
Real-time traffic information will be provided through the Gyeonggi Transportation Information Center website, mobile app, Twitter, and other channels.
To prepare for emergency patients during the holiday, an emergency medical situation room, on-duty medical institutions, and duty pharmacies will also be operated.
By contacting the Gyeonggi 120 Call Center and the 129 Health and Welfare Call Center, people can receive information on emergency medical institutions, designated hospitals and clinics, and pharmacies.
Customized care services for the elderly will be provided, including organizing emergency contact networks, creating lists of high-risk individuals, and conducting frequent welfare checks to confirm the safety of approximately 73,000 elderly living alone in the province.
