Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hosts Idea Contest on 'Integrating 4th Industrial Revolution and Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning'
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chae-seok] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power announced on the 21st that it will hold the '4th Industrial Revolution × Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning Idea Contest.'
The contest, which runs until the 21st of next month, was planned to promote safe and economical decommissioning projects by applying 4th Industrial Revolution technologies to the nuclear power plant decommissioning field.
Any student currently enrolled in a domestic university or graduate school can participate.
Submitted ideas will be judged by internal and external judges, and a total of eight awards will be given: one grand prize (3 million KRW), two excellence awards (1 million KRW each), and five encouragement awards (500,000 KRW each).
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power plans to review the selected ideas through relevant departments and establish ways to apply them to decommissioning projects.

Choi Deuk-gi, head of the Nuclear Power Plant Post-Management Division at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, said, "If 4th Industrial Revolution technologies are integrated into nuclear power plant decommissioning projects, the decommissioning industry, a future growth industry, can grow and develop much faster."
