KT&G Announces Open Recruitment for New and Experienced Employees in 2020
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] KT&G is conducting the ‘2020 New Graduate and Experienced Employee Open Recruitment.’ The number of recruits planned for this year is about 180, maintaining a level similar to last year.
This year’s new graduate recruitment is divided into Grade 6/Entry-level and Grade 10 tracks. The Grade 6/Entry-level new graduate recruitment fields include ▲Finance ▲Sales & Marketing ▲Manufacturing ▲Raw Materials ▲SCM ▲IT ▲Global ▲R&D, targeting those who have graduated from a four-year regular university or higher, or those expected to graduate in February 2021. The Grade 10 track, recruiting new graduates for sales and production positions, is open to students expected to graduate from Meister High Schools or other specialized high schools (February 2021), who can apply with a recommendation from their school principal.
Experienced employee recruitment is divided into general and Grade 8 tracks. The general track hires professionals in finance, R&D, and global fields, targeting those who have graduated from a four-year regular university or higher. The Grade 8 track recruits for manufacturing, printing, and raw materials fields, targeting those with a high school diploma or higher. For experienced employee recruitment, relevant work experience (3 or 5 years) in the respective fields is required as a qualification.
Applications for new graduates can be submitted on the KT&G recruitment website until the 13th of next month, and for experienced employees until the 6th. After document screening, practical interviews, and executive interviews, final successful candidates will be announced in early December for new graduates and late November for experienced employees. The entire process is conducted in a blind manner where age and place of origin are not disclosed to ensure fair recruitment.
Additionally, KT&G plans to hold an online recruitment briefing session to provide accurate recruitment information to applicants. To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure applicants’ safety, this briefing will be held in an untact (contactless) manner on September 23 and 25, twice in total, on the recruitment specialist site Jobplex. HR personnel will directly explain the recruitment process and job roles and resolve applicants’ questions through Q&A sessions.
Furthermore, to enhance the objectivity of the recruitment process, KT&G plans to regularize the AI interview system introduced for the first time last year. Based on over 100 million learning cases evaluated by HR experts, the system verifies applicants’ competencies and personalities to increase fairness and reliability.
A KT&G official stated, “Despite the difficult business environment due to the impact of COVID-19, we maintained a recruitment scale similar to last year, which was more than double that of 2018. We will continue to contribute to the national economy through continuous job creation and active investment.”
