Large Fire at Cheongnyangni Traditional Market... Firefighting Response Level 2 Issued (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] At around 4:32 AM on the 21st, a fire broke out at the Cheongnyangni Fruit and Vegetable Market in Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, and the fire department is conducting firefighting operations.
The fire department issued a Level 2 response at 4:54 AM and dispatched 129 firefighters, including 33 fire trucks, to the scene.
The fire is reported to have started in a refrigerated warehouse within the fruit and vegetable market, and so far, no casualties have been reported.

The National Fire Agency stated, "A fire broke out in the warehouse of the fruit and vegetable store, destroying 9 out of 67 stores, and we are currently preventing the flames from spreading further." They added, "Since a large quantity of goods was stored ahead of the Chuseok holiday, it is expected that firefighting will take a considerable amount of time."
