Yeongdeungpo-gu, Joint Chuseok Purchase at Traditional Markets
Non-Face-to-Face Group Purchase of Ritual Supplies and Gift Sets at 5 Traditional Markets...Prepayment to Traditional Market Merchants' Association Account and Submission of Application Form by the 22nd
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is holding a 'Chuseok Traditional Market Non-face-to-face Group Purchase' event ahead of the Chuseok holiday, which comes amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
This event was planned with the purpose of revitalizing traditional markets, which represent the struggling local economy, by providing an opportunity to utilize the Chuseok demand boost.
Additionally, the district prepared this as a supplementary measure since the annual 'Holiday Harmony Market,' which used to be held in front of the district office to promote traditional markets, has not been held since February due to COVID-19.
Five representative traditional markets located in Yeongdeungpo-gu (Yeongdeungpo Traditional Market, Yeongdeungpo Fruit and Vegetable Market, Yeongsin Arcade, Woori Market, and Daerim Central Market) are participating in this Chuseok non-face-to-face group purchase.
Among ritual items and gift sets, each market’s distinctive representative products have been selected for the group purchase.
The items available for group purchase include ▲fruits such as apples, pears, and melons (Fruit and Vegetable Market) ▲sesame oil and perilla oil sets (Yeongdeungpo Traditional Market) ▲red ginseng candy (Yeongsin Arcade) ▲handmade traditional sweets (Woori Market) ▲meat (Daerim Central Market).
For detailed information on items and orders, please refer to the district’s official website.
Applications for group purchase must be made by prepaying into the respective traditional market merchants’ association accounts by the 22nd, and then submitting the application form to the district office’s Job and Economy Division or the local community service center. Purchased goods will be delivered nationwide free of charge from the 25th to the 29th, supported by the traditional market mutual cooperation fund from Lotte Mart.
An event is also prepared where those who visit the Job and Economy Division or the community service center to pick up their goods in person will receive Onnuri gift certificates. The first 200 people who purchase over 30,000 KRW will receive a 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate, and those who purchase over 60,000 KRW will receive a 10,000 KRW certificate.
Meanwhile, from the 23rd to the 30th, holiday events organized by the merchants’ associations will be held at Yeongdeungpo Traditional Market, Nam Seoul Arcade, and Daesin Market. The event periods vary by market, and events such as Onnuri gift certificate giveaways based on purchase amounts and shopping carrier giveaways will be featured.
