Guro-gu Publishes 'Gujeong Research Report'
Addressing Local Issues in Urban Planning, Urban Regeneration, Regional Economy, Welfare, and Multicultural Areas Closely Related to Residents' Lives
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) has published the ‘Guro District Administration Research Report.’
Guro-gu stated, “The district administration research report was created to analyze local issues closely related to residents' lives and to utilize it for the development and introduction of various policies.”
This ‘District Administration Research Report’ was produced in four areas: urban planning, urban regeneration, local economy, and welfare & multiculturalism.
First, the urban planning section, under the theme ‘Policy Suggestions through Analysis of the Operation Status and Current Diagnosis of Basic Living Infrastructure in Guro,’ includes ▲ comparative analysis of the supply status of basic living infrastructure in Guro-gu ▲ investigation of operation methods and diagnosis of current issues ▲ directions and policy suggestions for strengthening the system.
The urban regeneration section, titled ‘A Study on the Autonomous Operation of Resident Shared Facilities Based on Community,’ covers ▲ the current status and issues of resident shared facilities ▲ customized support plans utilizing Guro-gu resources.
The local economy section, with the research topic ‘Analysis of Smart Factory Demand Status and Introduction Effects for the Leap of G-Valley,’ analyzed ▲ specialization of manufacturing industries by autonomous districts and the status of companies related to the 4th Industrial Revolution ▲ the current status and effects of smart factory introduction in G-Valley manufacturing companies.
The welfare & multiculturalism section, aimed at ‘Basic Research for Establishing a Guro-type Multicultural Child and Youth Care System,’ investigated ▲ satisfaction and mutual perception status of after-school care for domestic and foreign children and youth ▲ policy directions for developing a Guro-type multicultural care model.
Guro-gu distributed the district administration research report to each department of the district office, the district council, related organizations, Seoul City, the National Library of Korea, and the Seoul Institute. It was also posted on the district office website so that anyone can check the contents online.

A Guro-gu official said, “We expect this district administration research report to be a great help in introducing policies that reflect local characteristics,” and added, “We will continue to conduct in-depth district administration research to promote regional development and improve residents’ quality of life.”
