[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 19th that the number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul increased by 40 on the 18th.
The daily new confirmed cases in Seoul rose to 63 on the 16th, then decreased to 46 on the 17th, continuing a two-day downward trend and remaining in the 40s. On the 18th, excluding 2 imported cases, there were 38 locally transmitted cases, 8 fewer than the previous day (46 cases). The positivity rate, calculated by dividing the number of confirmed cases on the day (40) by the number of tests conducted the previous day (2,935), also decreased to 1.4% from 1.9% on the 17th.
