'Cutting-Edge Roof on Traditional Market'... Pohang City Completes Jangnyangseongdo Market Arcade
Mining, Ventilation, and Air Circulation with Automatic Fire Detection Function
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, held a completion ceremony on the 17th for the arcade built in Jangnyangseongdo Market, which incorporates a modern sensibility into the traditional market. About 50 people attended the ceremony, including Mayor Lee Kang-deok, local city and provincial council members, related organizations, heads of autonomous groups, and merchants.
This Jangnyangseongdo Market arcade construction project was selected last January in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' traditional market facility modernization project competition. Pohang City invested a total project cost of 1.9 billion KRW and started construction in March this year, installing an arcade measuring 131 meters in length, 2 to 10 meters in width, and a total floor area of 895 square meters.
The newly constructed arcade not only serves to block snow and rain but also enhances lighting, ventilation, and air circulation functions. Additionally, a photoelectric-type separated fire detector that automatically detects fires has been installed.
