Naver Launches Full-Scale Cloud Data Sandbox Initiative
Shopping and Local Business Data Registered in Financial Data Exchange
Cloud Data Sandbox to Be Released Within the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver announced on the 18th that it has registered shopping and local business-related data it owns with the Financial Data Exchange.
The data registered this time consists of data that can identify online shopping trends by sector and data specialized for each region. It is expected to be utilized for developing new products and services through synergy with financial sector data such as banks and card companies. For example, new businesses can be discovered based on business keywords frequently searched by Naver users in a specific region along with gender and age group data.
Naver plans to launch the "Cloud Data Sandbox" within the year for startups, university researchers, and public institutions to support domestic artificial intelligence (AI) research and development. The Cloud Data Sandbox is a data platform that gathers data owned by Naver, public data, and external company data secured through partnerships, allowing utilization through a highly secure cloud environment.
Through the Data Sandbox, Naver will provide data in various fields including ▲ AI training data such as text and images ▲ user behavior data such as shopping, local, and search ▲ public interest data for new business development and public research. Additionally, it plans to support cutting-edge analysis environments such as data analysis tools, high-performance infrastructure, and cloud storage, enabling users to conveniently utilize data while maintaining strict security in a cloud-based computing environment.
