View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) has launched a service through the 'Weather Alimi App' that notifies users in advance when heavy rain is expected at their current location.
On the 18th, the KMA announced that if the hourly expected precipitation in the user's neighborhood is between 15 and 25 mm within the next three hours, the app will provide a 'Heavy Rain' alert, and if it exceeds 25 mm, a 'Very Heavy Rain' alert will be issued.
This service automatically sends notifications based on location without requiring any personal settings (push notifications).
Additionally, the precipitation alert messages are linked to detailed precipitation forecasts, allowing users to check the flow of rainfall in their surrounding area through hourly ultra-short-term forecasts and real-time precipitation prediction videos.
