Hampyeong-gun Conducts Special Crackdown on Environmental Pollution Activities Before and After Chuseok
Special Crackdown Period Set from the 21st to the 4th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 16th that it will conduct a special crackdown on environmental pollution activities before and after Chuseok.
The county set the period from the 21st of this month to the 4th of next month as a special environmental pollution crackdown period, anticipating that environmental pollutant discharge activities will intensify during the Chuseok holiday when monitoring and supervision are lax.
During this period, the county plans to form a special crackdown team composed of environmental department staff to conduct patrols, guidance, and enforcement activities at pollutant discharge workplaces and related facilities.
The main targets of the crackdown are environmentally vulnerable areas such as wastewater discharge businesses and factory-dense regions.
In particular, for livestock farms and wastewater discharge facilities, which generate the most complaints due to odor, the county will minimize frequently occurring civil complaints by combining prior guidance, enforcement, and voluntary inspections.
