Delivery Hero Launches Ultra-Fast Delivery Service 'Yomart'
Delivery of ingredients and various daily convenience products within 30 minutes... Sequential expansion after pilot operation of the first store
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Delivery Hero's subsidiary, Delivery Hero Stores Korea (CEO Kim So-jung), announced on the 16th that it will launch the ultra-fast delivery store 'Yomart'.
Yomart is the domestic model of Dmart, which combines Delivery Hero's global logistics technology and operational know-how. Delivery Hero launched Dmart last year and currently operates 148 stores in 11 countries worldwide. It is described as introducing a new form of 'quick commerce' by combining 'quick,' meaning fast speed through urban logistics warehouses, and 'commerce.' It aims to be a next-generation logistics service that delivers anything to customers within 30 minutes without territorial restrictions.
The first domestic store will debut in Gangnam. Gangnam is one of the areas with particularly high delivery demand, combining various commercial districts including small residential types such as single-person households and office areas. Currently, the first Yomart store is in pilot operation, and after sufficient testing, the service area will be gradually expanded. Yomart currently sells over 3,000 different products ranging from fresh food and meal kits to daily necessities, household goods, and pet supplies. The product range will be expanded to more diverse categories in the future. Orders can be conveniently placed by any Yogiyo user within the Yomart service area without installing a separate app.
Yomart plans to offer a variety of products that meet customer convenience, including general mart product lines and specialized items. In the mid to long term, it plans to promote coexistence rather than competition with existing convenience stores or local stores. The strategy is to significantly expand collaboration with local stores that have struggled to respond to recent non-face-to-face (untact) consumption patterns, providing a differentiated ordering experience.
