Considering the difficulties faced by elderly people living alone due to strengthened social distancing measures restricting movement and the closure of welfare facilities, Woori Financial and KDIC prepared the Woori Happiness Boxes with a total of 10 food items including barley rice, gim (seaweed), pickled vegetables, gochujang (red chili paste), and yakgwa (traditional Korean sweets).
Woori Financial and KDIC made the Woori Happiness Boxes using Korean agricultural products recommended by the Korea Federation of Agricultural, Industrial and Commercial Small and Medium Enterprises to support farmers going through a difficult time due to the impact of COVID-19.
Employees of Woori Bank’s nationwide sales headquarters and KDIC plan to deliver about 2,000 Woori Happiness Boxes, produced before Chuseok, to over 40 elderly welfare facilities nationwide under the Senior Citizens Living Alone Comprehensive Support Center.
