Seogwipo Coast Guard Awards Commendations to Maritime Safety Service Contributors
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Seogwipo Maritime Police Station (Chief Do Gi-beom) announced on the 15th that on the 10th, in celebration of the "67th Marine Police Day," government awards and certificates of appreciation were presented to civilian cooperation contributors who have devotedly worked for marine rescue and marine safety.
On this day, for contributions to search and rescue, marine accident prevention education and promotion, lifesaving, and training of salvage experts in the region, the Presidential Citation was awarded to Lee Seung-hoon, a member of the Korea Marine Rescue Association.
Member Lee said in his acceptance speech, "I only did what anyone should naturally do," and added, "I will continue to work closely with the Marine Police to ensure thorough marine accident prevention and rescue activities."

Additionally, for contributions to spreading marine safety culture, a certificate of appreciation from the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries was awarded to Im Seong-woo, Vice Chairman of the Seogwipo Maritime Police Policy Advisory Committee, and certificates of appreciation from the Regional Headquarters Chief and the Station Chief were respectively awarded to members Lee Chi-woo and Ra Hye-kyung.
