Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Accepting Entries for 'Fire Safety Children's Festival' Until Next Month 16
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Im Jongbok) announced on the 15th that it will accept participation applications for the '20th Fire Safety Children's Festival' for elementary school 5th graders until the 16th of next month.
Hosted by the National Fire Agency and the Korea Fire Insurance Association, and sponsored by the Ministry of Education and 10 non-life insurance companies, this event is designed to help children acquire basic knowledge about fire, natural disasters, and daily safety, fostering safe children and contributing to the spread of a safety culture.
The Fire Safety Children's Festival is open to classes of 5th graders in elementary schools nationwide with at least 18 students per class.
However, if a class has fewer than 18 students, two or more classes can combine to participate. Applications are accepted online through the Fire Insurance Association website.
The evaluation is conducted simultaneously nationwide at the school locations, where students take a self-study using the Fire Safety Guide evaluation textbook and then participate in the assessment. Various awards are given to classes with excellent scores and their supervising teachers.
