[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Shinsegae's living & lifestyle brand Casamia has launched the 'Shinsegae Casamia Samsung Card,' offering differentiated customer-tailored benefits in collaboration with Samsung Card.
Casamia signed a strategic business partnership agreement (MOU) with Samsung Card last May, signaling an expansion of collaboration into the financial sector. After about four months of preliminary discussions and preparations, Casamia has released an exclusive credit card, enabling the full-scale introduction of differentiated customer services through cooperation with Samsung Card.
In particular, reflecting the recent trend of increased interest in home decoration due to prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and more time spent at home, Casamia designed and applied customized benefits for consumers wishing to purchase furniture based on big data analysis in partnership with Samsung Card.
The 'Shinsegae Casamia Samsung Card' offers a 5% billing discount benefit not only at Casamia offline stores but also on Casamia's lifestyle specialty online mall 'Good.com,' allowing discounts of up to 200,000 KRW per month.
Considering the heavy expenditure characteristics of furniture purchases, the card provides long-term interest-free installment plans of 12, 24, and 36 months. Additionally, when using the 24 or 36-month light installment service, an extra monthly discount of 11,000 KRW is available, which is expected to satisfy customers moving into new homes or newlyweds preparing for a fresh start.
Beyond furniture, various daily convenience services are also provided. As a Shinsegae Department Store affiliated service, three 5% discount coupons are provided monthly by default, along with 0.2% (double) Shinsegae points accumulation, two free monthly department store parking tickets, and 2-3 months interest-free installment benefits, among other generous perks.
When card usage exceeds 500,000 KRW in the previous month, benefits include: up to 10,000 KRW monthly discount at coffee shops (Starbucks, Ediya, Blue Bottle, etc.); up to 10% monthly discount on automatic payments for living expenses (apartment management fees, telecommunications, rental fees); and a 1.5% discount on overseas merchant payments. Additionally, for online simple payments such as SSG Pay, Samsung Pay, and Naver Pay, a 1% billing discount applies without restrictions on previous month’s spending or discount limits.
The annual fee is 20,000 KRW for both international (MasterCard) and domestic-only cards, and upon card issuance, Casamia membership Gold grade and a 3% discount coupon will also be provided.
