[2021 Early Admission Special] Kyung Hee University Shortens Neo-Renaissance Medical Interview by 5 Minutes
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Kyung Hee University selects 3,661 students (70.3%) through early admission. In early admission, 2,641 students are selected through the Student Record Comprehensive Screening, 684 through the Essay Excellence Screening, and 336 through the Practical Skills Excellence Screening. Within the Student Record Comprehensive Screening, 1,180 students are selected through the Neo Renaissance Screening, 750 through the High School Linked Screening, 428 through the Equal Opportunity (Ⅰ) Screening, 90 through the Equal Opportunity (Ⅱ) Screening, and 193 through the Specialized High School Graduate Employed Screening.
The Neo Renaissance Screening and the Specialized High School Graduate Employed Screening select three times the number of students in the first stage based on 100% document evaluation using school records and self-introduction letters, then in the second stage, final selection is made with 30% interview evaluation and 70% document evaluation. Evaluations are conducted qualitatively considering the COVID-19 situation. The Student Record Comprehensive Screening (High School Linked Screening) and Student Record Comprehensive Screening (Equal Opportunity Ⅰ·Ⅱ Screening) use a single combined method rather than multi-stage evaluation, selecting students with 70% document evaluation and 30% academic record scores. The Student Record Comprehensive Screening (High School Linked) selects 750 students who are expected to graduate from domestic high schools and have received recommendations from their school principals, with a maximum of 6 students per high school (2 in humanities, 3 in natural sciences, 1 in arts and physical education). None of the Student Record Comprehensive Screening types have minimum CSAT score requirements.
The teacher recommendation letter, which was an optional document in the Student Record Comprehensive Screening, has been abolished. Applicants only need to submit the mandatory documents: school records and self-introduction letters. The interview time for the medical field in the Neo Renaissance Screening has been shortened from 30 minutes to 25 minutes. Aside from the reduced interview time, the format of question-based interviews plus document verification interviews remains the same as last year. Interviews for general fields, excluding the medical field, remain 10 minutes as in the previous year.
