Jeonnam National University Yeosu Campus Accelerates 'Development Plan Establishment'
Launch of 'Baljeon Jeonryak Gihoekwi'... Relay Discussions by College Starting from the 16th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chonnam National University is accelerating the establishment of a development plan to specialize and strengthen the competitiveness of its Yeosu Campus.
Chonnam National University announced on the 14th that it launched the 'Yeosu Campus Development Strategy Planning Committee' earlier this year and has begun concrete activities to incorporate voices from the field.
This decision was based on the judgment that a mid- to long-term specialization policy is necessary to proactively respond to rapidly changing environmental conditions and to present a future blueprint for the local community.
Accordingly, from the 16th, Yeosu Campus will hold two rounds of relay discussions on development plans for each college, and then reflect these in the 'Chonnam National University Yeosu Campus Development Plan.'
In addition, the plan will include changes and future visions related to the establishment of three advanced departments, as well as departments closely linked to the local community, such as the Department of Cultural Tourism Management for training personnel in the marine tourism sector, the Global Studies Department designated under the Yeosu Education Internationalization Special Zone, and the Global Business Department aimed at attracting Chinese international students.
Previously, there has been a consensus to comprehensively envision the future development of Yeosu Campus growing together with local residents by operating programs such as the 'Early Employment Contract Department' and 'Employment First, Further Education Later Contract Department' tailored to local industries, as well as the 'Post-Learning Dedicated Course' for high school graduates entering employment starting next year to support lifelong education.
