At the Expanded Executive Meeting via Video Conference on the 14th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] On the morning of the 14th, Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin declared a policy of strict enforcement and zero-tolerance administrative measures against businesses violating the mask-wearing mandate for five industries, starting from the 21st, during an expanded executive meeting held via video conference.
According to the 'Daegu-style Social Distancing Level 2' policy, business owners in five industries within the region?general restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, bakeries, reading rooms, and study cafes?are required to mandate mask-wearing for employees and notify customers to wear masks, and they will be held responsible for compliance.
For violations, the penalties are as follows: a warning for the first offense, a one-day business suspension for the second offense, a three-day suspension for the third offense, and for four or more offenses or continuous failure to enforce mask-wearing notifications, a business suspension of one week or longer will be imposed.
Regarding this, Mayor Kwon stated, "We will also claim compensation from businesses that become sources of COVID-19 cases or infection spread," expressing his determination to respond strongly for the safety of citizens and the community.
