View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will conduct a survey of businesses located in the Incheon Free Economic Zone by the end of this year.
The survey targets businesses with five or more employees (for foreign-invested companies, one or more employees) and will be conducted through interviews and self-administered questionnaires completed by the resident companies.
The survey consists of a total of 66 items. It covers basic information about the resident companies such as the time of entry, organizational form, employment, industry, sales, exports, investment, production logistics volume, research personnel, incentives, and difficulties, as well as an in-depth investigation of challenges and suggestions related to corporate activities.
In particular, this year's survey includes additional investigations on employee housing facilities, which are a current issue for resident companies, and the status of land use by resident companies.
According to last year's survey results, as of the end of 2018, there were 3,039 businesses in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, employing 92,751 people. Sales amounted to 69 trillion won, a 17.5% increase compared to the previous year, and exports reached 21 trillion won, a 1.5% increase.

An official from the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority stated, "Once the survey results are available at the end of this year, we plan to analyze the status of businesses by industry and key projects to measure and evaluate achievements such as investment attraction, job creation, and sales, and use the data as a basis for administrative and financial support and policy implementation."
