Damyang-gun Establishes Temporary Residence 'Returnee Farmers' House'
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 14th that it has established a temporary residence called the ‘House for Returnees to Farming’ to allow those hoping to return to farming or rural living to learn farming techniques and experience rural life for a certain period before settling down.
This project secures vacant houses in the area, repairs the interiors, or installs movable houses, and supports villages or organizations with a project fund of 30 million KRW on the condition that the house is operated as a ‘House for Returnees to Farming’ for more than seven years.
The first ‘House for Returnees to Farming’ was created last year by repairing a hanok (49.5㎡) owned in Unsan-ri, Daedeok-myeon, at Unsudaetong Village, and a prospective returnee to farming is residing there with a monthly rent of 100,000 KRW.
The second ‘House for Returnees to Farming’ was established this year by installing a movable house (30㎡) in Yongoreum Rural Experience Village in Yongheung-ri, Wolsan-myeon, and a prospective returnee to rural living is residing there with a monthly rent of 150,000 KRW.
The lease contract can be made for a period ranging from six months to one year.
