As the first case, high schools in Yecheon will jointly offer a 'Poetry Creation' course starting in September. In this regard, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education supported inviting the famous poet Ando-hyun, a native of Yecheon, as an instructor.
Poet Ando-hyun has been conducting poetry creation classes every Monday evening from the second semester starting in September for about 10 high school students in Yecheon. The instructor fees and students' nighttime commuting expenses are fully supported by the Gyeongbuk Office of Education.
Kim Su-yeon (2nd year, Yecheon Girls' High School), who participated in this class, said, "It is amazing and very exciting to meet and listen to the poet I learned about in textbooks in person. I look forward to it a lot," adding, "I will learn and master poetry creation techniques to become a nationally recognized student poet."
