Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee Donates 'Walk-Through' Equipment to 50 Medical Institutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 14th that it donated 50 'walk-through' infection safety examination booths to 50 screening clinics at medical institutions nationwide in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), in partnership with the social welfare foundation Children and Future Foundation.
This donation of walk-through infection safety examination booths is part of the 'Together Healthier with Mercedes-Benz' campaign to overcome COVID-19, aimed at supporting medical staff and institutions struggling due to the prolonged and resurgent pandemic and contributing to local communities.
The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee conducted a demand survey targeting medical institutions nationwide in collaboration with the Korea Hospital Association and the social welfare foundation Children and Future Foundation. Based on review criteria such as the average daily number of tests and the number of available hospital beds, a total of 50 general hospitals and hospital-level medical institutions across 14 cities and provinces were selected as recipients.
The infection safety examination booth equipment, which began distribution in early September and was completed last week, enables rapid and efficient COVID-19 specimen collection and diagnosis through the walk-through method. It also safely separates medical staff and patients and reduces medical staff fatigue, which is expected to greatly assist frontline sites urgently needing medical resources.
