According to the quarantine authorities on the 12th, 28 additional infections were recorded as a result of a chain infection centered around patient number 293 in Daejeon, who attended the health food business briefing.
Patient number 293 came into contact with family members numbered 311, 312, 313, and 314 in Daejeon, as well as patients 333 and 340 after attending the briefing.
Among them, patient number 311 visited a restaurant in Gayang-dong, which accelerated the spread of COVID-19 within Daejeon. Patient 311 showed suspected COVID-19 symptoms such as sputum and loss of taste starting from the 28th of last month and visited the Gayang-dong restaurant twice on the 31st of last month and the 1st of this month.
Shortly after patient 311's visit, the restaurant owner showed symptoms of sore throat on the 3rd. Subsequently, 19 additional confirmed cases related to the restaurant were identified.
