Goheung-gun Imposes 2.5 Billion Won in September Regular Property Tax... Payment Due by Next Month 5th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it has imposed 2.5 billion KRW in regular property tax (land, half of the housing portion) for 60,800 cases in September this year.
The payment period for this property tax is until the 5th of next month, and the imposed amount is 2.5 billion KRW for 60,800 cases. This is a 4.7% increase from 2.33 billion KRW last year, which is mainly attributed to the rise in housing prices and official land prices.
Taxpayers are owners of land, buildings, houses, ships, etc. within the jurisdiction as of the tax base date (June 1 every year). If the tax amount is less than 2,000 KRW (exempt from small amount collection), the corresponding property tax will not be collected.
For the housing portion of the property tax, amounts under 100,000 KRW were fully imposed in July, and amounts over 100,000 KRW are imposed half in July and half in September. This time, the remaining 50% has been imposed. For the land portion of the property tax, it was imposed all at once in September.
Tax payment notices are sent by mail or issued at the eup/myeon offices, and taxpayers who applied for electronic notification can check the electronic notice details.
Payment methods include using passbooks or credit cards at cash deposit/withdrawal machines (CD/ATM) at all banks nationwide, and convenient payment is possible through Wetax, Internet Giro, virtual account transfer, ARS, etc. Also, payments can be made through the local tax revenue account newly implemented in June 2020.
