Jungnang Residents-Centered Newsletter Wins Excellence Award at Manifesto Competition
'2020 National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Competition' Final Results Newsletter and Broadcasting Division Excellence Award Achievement
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) won the Excellence Award in the newsletter and broadcasting category at the final results of the ‘2020 National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Competition’ announced on the 10th.
Hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, the ‘2020 Manifesto Competition’ is held annually to share pledges and best practices of basic local government heads nationwide. Jungnang-gu participated with representative cases such as the Jungnang-gu SNS supporters ‘RangRang-i,’ who directly deliver local government news to residents, and the neighborhood news reporters ‘Udongtong (Uri Dongnae Tongsinwon).’
The Jungnang-gu SNS supporters ‘RangRang-i’ consist of 30 members including florists, photographers, video PDs, designers, and university students who produce and broadcast specialized SNS content by field and media to promote Jungnang-gu as a representative promotional group.
‘Udongtong (Uri Dongnae Tongsinwon)’ is a promotional group composed of 18 members, one to two from each neighborhood, producing video content titled ‘Our Changed Neighborhood’ that captures the transformed appearance of the neighborhoods, gaining empathy from residents.
In addition to ‘RangRang-i’ and ‘Udongtong,’ the district introduced cases such as promptly reflecting residents’ requests into policies through SNS comment communication on blogs and Instagram, and producing and distributing special editions of newsletters related to COVID-19 response, which received high acclaim.
