Gwanak-gu Dorimcheon, Park Outdoor Facilities, and On-site Disinfection Efforts in Full Swing
Proactive Response to Infection Spread Due to Balloon Effect in Outdoor Facilities like Dorimcheon and Parks... Continued Intensive Inspection of Vulnerable Facilities such as Door-to-Door Sales, Bathhouses, and Beauty Salons
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has strengthened management of outdoor facilities such as Dorimcheon Stream and parks, as well as vulnerable quarantine facilities.
This is a proactive response to prevent the spread of infection caused by the so-called "balloon effect," where people flock to outdoor facilities like Dorimcheon Stream and parks due to restrictions on indoor activities at convenience stores and restaurants after 9 PM following the implementation of social distancing level 2.5 amid the recent resurgence of COVID-19.
The district has deployed 92 temporary workers to 98 facilities including neighborhood parks and children's parks to conduct disinfection at least once a day.
In addition, during evening hours, announcements urging restraint from drinking are broadcasted at major parks and Dorimcheon Stream, and regular patrols are conducted to promote and encourage mask-wearing.
Following the gathering restrictions on 5,819 food service establishments, an emergency duty system has been in operation since the 4th. A night situation room operates from 6 PM to 5 AM the next day to inspect compliance with quarantine rules and respond to related complaints. When complaints arise, a two-person team immediately dispatches to conduct patrols and on-site inspections.
Efforts are also being made to strengthen inspections and management of vulnerable quarantine facilities where confirmed cases continue to occur, such as door-to-door sales businesses and bathhouses.
The district conducts weekly continuous inspections to ensure compliance with gathering bans targeting local door-to-door sales companies, posts high-risk facility promotional posters with QR codes for citizen reporting rewards at major bus stops and large building elevators.
Furthermore, six key quarantine rules are intensively inspected at 32 bathhouses, and a one-strike-out policy is strongly promoted for non-compliance. Thorough inspections are also conducted at 146 beauty salons regarding mask-wearing, disinfection, and ventilation to ensure strict adherence to quarantine guidelines.
