Gwangju Dong-gu, Hakun 2 District Section 1 'Completed'... Opening Scheduled for Mid-Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 8th that it has completed the construction of the long-awaited 'Hakwoon 2 District Section 1' and will open the road and parking lot around mid-month.
The road to be opened is a section with frequent traffic congestion between the main gate of Jodae Bug High School and Uijae-ro, covering the Hakdong Miryang Village area. This area had many inconveniences for residents due to the concentration of old and dilapidated buildings and vacant houses.
Dong-gu applied for the project in 2015 through a contest hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, investing a total project cost of 7.6 billion KRW. Compensation for losses began in 2018, and construction of Section 1 started in June last year.
Since then, by August this year, three road lines (L=592m, B=6m) and two parking lots (635㎡) have been completed.
The district expects that after the road opening, traffic volume will be dispersed, reducing residents' inconvenience and improving living conditions.
