From the early morning of the 7th, Korean Central Broadcasting and Korean Central TV entered a disaster broadcast system and reported on the typhoon situation at intervals of 30 minutes to 1 hour.
A Central TV reporter explained the situation around 2 p.m. that day in Tongchon-gun, Gangwon-do, saying, "I am reporting on the situation of Typhoon No. 10 from inside a car, describing how strong the wind is blowing and how heavy the rain is pouring, but the cars are only being pushed slightly." The Tongchon area in Gangwon-do, directly affected by Haishen, was reported to have wind speeds reaching 27 to 30 meters per second in the afternoon, rainfall of about 200 mm, and wave heights around 4.2 meters.
Central TV reported, "The heavy rain that had been falling since 1 p.m. has somewhat decreased, but strong winds have begun to blow," adding that the average wind speed was about 20 meters per second and the maximum wind speed was 35 meters per second.
All roads in Wonsan were submerged in water, and trees were reported to have fallen due to the strong winds.
Due to Typhoon Haishen, rivers and streams also rose rapidly. Central TV stated, "While the rivers swollen by Typhoon No. 9 have not yet been drained, Typhoon No. 10 has struck, leading to major flood warnings for several rivers, streams, and reservoirs."
