62 Daejeon Street Racers Caught Driving Imported Cars at 282 km/h

On the 7th, the Traffic Crime Investigation Team of the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they conducted an intensive crackdown on traffic accident-inducing behaviors for two months starting from June 22, and 62 drivers were booked without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
Among them, 27 people including A (27) are accused of blocking the second lane road near Taprip Samgeori in Yuseong-gu and competing in speed over a 500m section, as well as showing off drifting skills and engaging in reckless driving.
Also, at the Gyeryong Tunnel, 35 people including B (37) drove imported cars at speeds up to 282 km/h. They also engaged in so-called 'rolling racing,' where they drive at low speed and then compete at maximum speed over a predetermined 3.4 km section.
The drivers reportedly told the police that "Songgang in the Daejeon area and Gyeryong Tunnel are well-known racing venues nationwide."
