On the 30th of last month, Ms. A (39, female), who was returning home, was found dead in a field near the oil market. The suspect, Mr. B (28, male), who is under arrest and investigation for robbery and murder in this case, claimed, "I accidentally killed the victim Ms. A while trying to take her money."
Subsequently, a petitioner who identified himself as the father of the victim Ms. A posted a petition on the 4th claiming that the suspect committed a premeditated murder.
The petitioner said, "My daughter worked part-time at a convenience store every day for 5 hours without taking weekends off. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk from home to the convenience store," and added, "After the incident, I learned that she walked to and from work when there was no rain or snow to save on transportation costs, which were expensive if she took the bus, so she could save half of that money."
The petitioner stated, "The perpetrator owns a 1-ton truck and also worked in delivery, so how could he commit such a terrible act just because work was a little slow? Even with day labor, one could live for a week on the daily wage. Moreover, it is very unfair and clearly a planned murder that he followed a woman who saved on transportation costs by walking to and from work and killed her with a weapon he had."
He wrote, "According to CCTV footage, he drove his own car around the large oil market about three times, saw my daughter passing by, parked in the parking lot, and then committed the crime. It seems he tried to sexually assault her, but when my daughter fiercely resisted, he stabbed her multiple times with a weapon."
Finally, he said, "My daughter was not promiscuous or living a reckless life. For 40 years, she never came home late at night or stayed out overnight, and she was a righteous child who commuted to work and home at regular times," adding, "I am so heartbroken and unfairly treated that I cannot sleep because such a thing happened to my daughter who lived a good life. After staying awake for five nights, I am appealing to the entire nation and knocking on the door of the national petition."
Earlier, on the 3rd, a national petition titled "We urge the disclosure of personal information and strict investigation of the man in his 20s from Jeju who followed and killed a woman returning home" was posted, demanding severe punishment for the suspect. As of 6 a.m. on the 7th, this petition has been supported by over 78,000 people.

The suspect worked in delivery. He drove his truck around Jeju city looking for a target," and added, "It seems like an excuse to reduce the sentence by claiming the victim resisted because she could not give him 10,000 won against a man holding a knife. I can only think that he killed the victim."
He continued, "I earnestly ask that everyone take an interest and that this issue be publicized so that the suspect’s personal information is disclosed and a strict investigation is conducted."
