Dong-Eui University and Busan Office of Education Host Busan Student Artificial Intelligence Competition
On the 5th at Dong-Eui University, skills competed in problem-solving and application service development using AI applications
The annual artificial intelligence (AI) competition for elementary, middle, and high school students organized by Dong-Eui University and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education.

The Big Data Artificial Intelligence Center (Director Kim Seong-hee) of the Dong-Eui University LINC+ Project Group partnered with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) to conduct the "AI-Based Project Learning Competition" for students from various local schools.
This competition was organized as part of the "Making a Better Busan" project, designed as a process to find solutions to problems faced by Busan.
It proceeded by solving three types of problem situations: "Problem Solving Using AI Applications," "Problem Solving Through AI Application Service Development," and "Problem Solving Using Data Science."
Eleven teams with 31 elementary students, eight teams with 24 middle school students, and seventeen teams with 60 high school students advanced to the finals.
The competition required submission of project deliverables such as execution plans over four weeks from August 11 to September 4, culminating in an online presentation on the final day.
A Dong-Eui University official stated, "In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we held this competition to provide students, who will live in an AI society, with an opportunity to develop problem-solving skills that can create new value."

The competition was supported by the LINC+ Project Group and the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center, with Director Kim Seong-hee (majoring in Industrial ICT Technology Engineering) and Professor Woo Young-woon (majoring in Applied Software Engineering) of the Big Data Artificial Intelligence Center serving as judges.
