Please Postpone Family and Relatives Visits to Prevent COVID-19 Infection

On the 7th, Boseong-gun in Jeonnam announced that it is requesting hometown visitors to refrain from visiting to prevent COVID-19 and urging residents to postpone inviting family and relatives living in other regions, as well as to purchase Chuseok gifts and groceries from local stores.
Boseong-gun plans to send letters to hometown visitors who are considering visiting during the Chuseok holiday, asking them to refrain from traveling during the holiday. It will also promote the online direct transaction market "Boseong Mall," where local agricultural specialties can be purchased, along with information on the grass-cutting proxy service.
The county is preparing an "Online Joint Ancestral Rite" for hometown visitors who cannot return home for the holiday and supports video calls to convey regards to parents residing locally. A video titled "Letter from Hometown" will be produced to share hometown news on YouTube. Volunteer organizations plan to distribute ceremonial food to marginalized groups.
County Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, "We fully understand the desire to spend the holiday with loved ones, but since COVID-19 is more fatal to the elderly, we ask you to refrain from visiting your hometown this Chuseok for the health of your beloved family."
